The Swedish Business Association Singapore, SBAS, is a General Manager for a part time services assignment.

 SBAS’ main task is to support its member companies and in various ways promote their and Sweden’s relationship with Singapore.  SBAS also has the task to be the common voice for member companies, in discussions with Singapore authorities and organizations.  Many activities will be managed in close collaboration with the Swedish Embassy and Business Sweden.

We are seeking a person who enjoys working in a socially intense environment with a very high level of service mindedness, with a passion for Sweden and with good local knowledge about Singapore. As such, the job demands full fluency in Swedish as well as English.

The General Manager is overall responsible for SBAS, its vision and mission, its policies and strategies for development and in representing SBAS and the Swedish business community.  SBAS will among other things, develop business climate surveys, form special task forces and participate in business delegations.

You will need to be flexible, have a high level of drive and a great ability to cooperate with others.  Experience in leading projects is required and ideally, you have already worked in an environment and position similar to this role.

The work demands accuracy, the ability to handle stress and multiple task, and that you work with solid integrity.

The work of running the daily business consists of:

  • Be the contact for the board, member companies, external authorities and organizations.
  • Growing SweCham membership base by recruiting member companies and sponsors.
  • Developing SweCham engagements with the Singapore business community,
  • Supporting the transition into a Swedish Chamber of Commerce (SweCham) with a new brand and positioning.
  • Content writing for Facebook, webpage and webpage support.
  • Handle SBAS economic affairs.
  • Daily management of “web-home page” and social media.
  • Responsible for the event calendar, planning and execution.
  • Maintaining contact lists and data base.
  • Booking of hotels, flights and venues as applicable.
  • Arranging newsletters, mail chimp etc., i.e. all communications to the members.
  • Responsibility for all administration of SBAS and implement activities such as events, as decided by the board including planning, budgeting, execution and follow-up

The position is in the form of procured services and will be remunerated on a contract basis, i.e. not a permanent position.  The position will start in May/June.
